Picking Up or Dropping Off?

Hello Parents and Guardians,

It is hard to believe it is already May and I have been at Mariposa for one month.  I want to thank you for the warm welcome I have received.  I have been working hard to learn names, attaching them to faces and connecting the dots between siblings and parents.  This is a special community and I am very pleased to be serving it.

One of the truly special facets of this community is the involvement of our parents.  We know parental involvement contributes significantly to increased success of our students.  If we – students, parents and staff, work together as a team we will accomplish a great deal.  Parents are welcome to volunteer at our school, visit before of after school or assist us in anyway. You assistance is very much appreciated. However, during instructional time (the school day is 9:15 – 3:35) I ask that parents who are dropping their children off please sign them in at the office and refrain from going to the classroom with them.  If picking your child(ren) up during the school day or at the end of the day please check in at the office and wait for your child in the office or in the front foyer. I am asking this to limit disruptions during our instructional time and most importantly to ensure the safety and privacy of all students.

I appreciate your co-operation in this matter.  If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at the school.

Sincerely,

Mr. Stone
