Grade 8 Pathway Information (Parents)
Thursday, January 29th: Grade 8 Pathways and Transition night at LCVI. An evening for grade 8 students and their parents to learn about the pathways, programs and opportunities available at LCVI.
7 Grandfathers Teachings Guest Speaker
On February 9th we will be having A guest speaker meeting with students in Grade 1-8 – Oshkaabewis Dave Rice is a helper, dancer and Knowledge Sharer from Wasauksing First Nation. Dave is a proud community member who sits on his local First Nation council. He leads with kindness and humility as he shares his knowledge of his Anishinaabe culture and ways of being and knowing. Dave has sat on our TLDSB Indigenous Education Advisory Circle and worked alongside educators for the past 10 years. He brings knowledge and culture to our buildings and unique and inspiring ways.
Snow Day Reminders
Here is a reminder of the TLDSB inclement weather procedures.
- If buses are cancelled in our zone (Zone 5), our school will remain OPEN.
- Parents/guardians who drive their children to school are responsible for pickup at the regular dismissal time.
- We strongly recommend all families subscribe to www.mybustoschool.ca to receive direct alerts for route-specific delays or cancellations.
- All cancellation info is also posted on tldsb.ca, TLDSB social media, and local radio stations.
- Hot lunches are cancelled for today. Your account will be credited automatically. Please note that credits may take 7–10 business days to appear.
- There is no need to contact the school if your child(ren) is bused and will not be attending today.

Sr. Boys Volleyball
Monday, January 26th, Intermediate Boys Volleyball Tournament (with a weather date of the 27th) at LCVI.
Junior Mixed Volleyball
We have lots of games coming up in the near future! Please refer to your child’s schedule for details and ensure permission forms are signed digitally. Our tournament is on February 6th at Fenelon Falls Secondary School. Please send an email to Ms. Murray if you are willing and able to drive some of our teammates to the tournament!
Junior Mixed Basketball
Tryouts for junior mixed basketball starts tomorrow January 09th. Students are invited to meet at the gym tryouts with appropriate attire and indoor running shoes. The tryout will be during the first recess.
