Mariposa Elementary School is proud to welcome Aubrey Noronha (NA-ROW-NA) to our community on Wednesday, September 25.
Aubrey is a recognized Character Education and Safe Schools Speaker who believes in the possibility of a safer and more emotionally connected school culture. Through his Hello Hope Canada programs, Aubrey seeks to instill his hope for the future into the minds and hearts of youth and caring adults.
Aubrey’s presentations to the primary and junior classes, “Stick with the Truth”, focuses on the truth about skin colour, identifies the reality that lies will be told about skin colour, and that there is one thing K-6 students can do with that truth and about those lies. His intermediate presentation, “COLOUR BLIND?”, focuses on why this issue is even worth our time and why it needs to be a matter of the heart before change can occur.
Our Mariposa staff will also be engaged in learning around Aubrey’s messages during our staff meeting after school.
