Progress Reports & Parent-Teacher Interviews
Progress report cards will be sent home on Friday, November 14th. Reports will be shared electronically with all guardians, and one printed copy will be sent home with students.
Our Parent-Teacher Interviews will take place on Thursday, November 20th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Families will receive more information next week on how to sign up for interview times. This is a great opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher and discuss their learning and progress.
School Hours
Our daily schedule is available on the homepage of our school website. The office is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Morning supervision begins at 9:00 a.m., and students should not be dropped off before this time, as the school grounds are not open prior to the start of the day.
Remembrance Day
On November 11th, we pause to honour and remember the brave individuals who served our country. Mrs. L. Moore and Mrs. M. Murray will represent our school at the Oakwood cenotaph. This is a meaningful day for our students and staff to reflect, show respect, and remember the sacrifices that allow us to live in freedom. We will be hosting an assembly at the school for our students remaining behind.
Soar Update
The Mariposa SOAR Group (Grd 6-8 Students Organize Awareness & Response) collected 230 nonperishable food items. Everything was boxed and picked up today. Our local food bank is extremely grateful for the donations. They told the students that they are in dire need. Thanks so much!
Intermediate Girls Volleyball
We are thrilled to share that we’ve had a tremendous turnout for Intermediate Girls Volleyball this year, with 25 enthusiastic Grade 7 and 8 students showing interest! The team will consist of 9 players. Our next tryout will take place after school on November 11th until 5:00 p.m. Due to the large number of students and the time required to set up the nets, it’s difficult to hold tryouts over lunch and recess. We understand that after-school practices can be challenging, and once the team is selected, we’ll do our best to schedule practices during the school day. We’re so proud of all our wonderful athletes and the great spirit they bring to the court!

As winter approaches, here is a reminder of the TLDSB inclement weather procedures.
- If buses are cancelled in our zone, our school will remain OPEN.

Occupational Therapists in the Classroom
We are pleased to share that our school is continuing its partnership with Five Counties Children’s Centre to provide School-Based Occupational Therapy (OT) services.
This program uses a “tiered model” of service, which allows Occupational Therapists (OTs) to work with teaching teams and provide universal, class-wide strategies. The goal is to support all students’ functional skills, such as:
- Fine motor development (e.g., printing, scissor skills)
- Self-care (e.g., managing coats, zippers, and food containers)
- Sensory needs, emotional regulation, and attention
A detailed letter from Five Counties Children’s Centre explaining this valuable program is available at the link below.
All students will be included in this universal classroom programming. If you do NOT wish for your child to participate, please advise the Principal by Friday, November 14th, 2025.
More individualized OT supports are still available for students with higher needs.
