PA Day
A friendly reminder that tomorrow, Friday, October 24th is a PA Day! There will be no school for students, and all staff, including our office staff, will be participating in professional learning throughout the day. We hope everyone enjoys a restful and well-deserved long weekend!
Halloween
Halloween is just around the corner, and students are welcome to wear costumes to celebrate! To help keep the day fun and stress-free, we kindly ask that costumes do not include accessories, as these items are often misplaced. For those who prefer not to dress up, wearing orange and black is a great way to join in the festive spirit. Let’s make it a safe and spirited day for everyone!
SOAR
The Mariposa SOAR Group (Students Organize Awareness & Response) is collecting food items for the local food bank. Please consider donating canned goods and cereal. We will collect until November 5th. We are trying to fill the huge food bin in our front lobby to help people in need. Thanks so much for your support!
Wishing Rick a Happy Retirement!
It’s hard to believe, but after 12 wonderful years of keeping our school spotless, welcoming, and running smoothly, Mr. Walden will be retiring at the end of this month. His last day is Thursday, October 31st.
Mr. Walden has been such an important part of our school family—always ready with a helping hand and a big smile. We’ll miss his kindness, hard work, and sense of humour around the halls!
As we say goodbye to Rick, we’re also excited to welcome our new custodian, Mrs. Gruntz, to the team. We’re thrilled to have Mrs. Gruntz joining our school community and know she’ll be a wonderful addition.
Please join us in thanking Rick for everything he’s done and in wishing him all the best as he heads into this exciting new chapter of retirement.
Jr. Soccer
The Jr. Soccer team represented Mariposa very well at their tournament on Tuesday at FFSS. Although we did not advance, all members of the team showed strong sportsmanship, humility, and teamwork throughout the day and the whole season! We played strong teams and you all did your absolute best on the field. Thank you for a super fun season, Jr. Monarchs!
