SOAR FundraiserÂ
The SOAR Group (Students Organize Awareness & Response) at Mariposa Elementary School, with grade 8 student leaders Fionnuala and Emily M, raised a staggering $819.59 for the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes (HSKL). How did they manage that? They organized, promoted, sold, wrote notes, and delivered over 400 candy-grams. Wow! SOAR Group teacher leader, Ms. L. Moore and all of us here at Mariposa are so proud of Fionnuala, Emily, and their team of volunteers.
Shawna Sommerville from HSKL happily received the donation cheque. Thank you so much to the Mariposa community for your support!
