Recess & Lunch Breaks: To allow our staff to maintain proper supervision and safety protocols, we kindly ask that all parents vacate the school yard during scheduled recess and lunch breaks. We will provide space in our school gym for parents who would like a space to come together.

What to Bring: Ensure your child has a reusable water bottle, a hat, and plenty of sunscreen applied before they arrive at school.

JK/SK Fluoride Varnish

Our Kindergarten students (JK/SK) will be participating in the Health Unit’s Fluoride Varnish program on Wednesday, May 20. This program is a great way to support our students’ oral health right here at school.

School Cash Online (SCO) Registration Reminder

We still have a small number of students who are not registered with SCO.  If you have not yet registered your student, please do so as you will need to be registered to pay for trips, lunches, etc.  Here is the SCO link .  You can also find it on the main page of our Mariposa website

Field events are Ball Throw, Ball Kick, Running Long Jump and Standing Long Jump.  Track events are the 50, 100 and 200 m races.

Our Schedule is as follows, but please remember this is only approximate!

9:40 –11:20            All boys will be doing the field events.

All girls will be doing the track events.

12:00 – 1:40:  All girls will be doing the field events.

All boys will be doing the track events.

We will be having our regular lunch and recess breaks. Breaks will be from 11:20 to 12:00 and 1:40 to 2:20.

All running finals (for grades 1, 2 and 3 only) will be at the end of the day.  We can’t be sure what time the running finals will begin but we are hoping to start at 2:45.

Please remind your child(ren) that even if they win their heat, they have to have the best times to make it to the finals.  Also, they must stay in their own lane.  We have been working hard on these skills at school! JK and SK athletes will not be running in the finals at 2:45.

Parents are welcome to come and cheer on our young Mariposa athletes! To ensure the comfort and safety of all our students, spectators are asked to remain on the yard.  Should you wish to pick your child up early, please let your child’s teacher know so arrangements can be made through the office.

Backpack checklist (please ensure your child has the following): running shoes, water bottle, Sunscreen and hat.

Ice Cream Sandwiches

Ice cream sandwiches will be sold for $2.00 during second lunch on Friday May 22nd, 29th. Cash only. Please note that this is a change in date.

Grade 1 Vision Screening

A quick reminder for our Grade 1 families: the Lions Club will be on-site this Friday, May 22, to conduct vision screenings. These screenings are fast, painless, and help catch common issues like eye misalignment or blurriness early on. While this does not replace a full eye exam with an optometrist, it is a vital tool for student wellness. Information was sent to families via permission click.
